Testosterone and Active Ageing The
good news is that life expectancy is increasing in the UK for both men and women
– The bad news is that good health expectancy is not. The result is that with
an ageing population, the years of low quality life due to mental and physical
disability are increasing. This is happening at a time when we are being urged
to take less sick leave, retire late, and manage on lower pensions. Other than
exhortations to live healthier lives, what else has modern medicine to offer?
As part of the search for an answer to this very pressing problem The Society
for the Study of Androgen Deficiency (Andropause Society) is holding its 4th Annual
International Conference at the Royal Society in Carlton House Terrace SW1 on
24th and 25th of February with the theme of ‘Androgens in Active Ageing’. Topics
to be covered by leading experts from America, Canada, Australia, Israel, Russia,
Germany, France, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Greece, and The Netherlands, as well as
Oxford, London, Sheffield, and Bradford Universities in the UK, include: ·
